Katia Pfrunder Cardozo
I am a microbiologist specialized in laboratory safety. I support organizations in integrating biosafety and occupational safety and health protection into their daily operations.
Profile & Background
I have extensive training in biosafety and work as a Biosafety Officer (BSO) in a BSL-2 laboratory environment. My experience in lab management is complemented by a specialization in occupational safety and health protection. I also bring strong understanding of regulatory requirements and their practical implementation.
I combine a solid academic background in microbiology with hands-on laboratory experience, giving me a clear understanding of how microbiological laboratories operate in practice - including their workflows, requirements, and risks.
This allows me to assess risks in a structured way, interpret requirements accurately, and support organizations in a practical and responsible manner.
I view safety not in isolation, but as an integral part of workflows, responsibilities, and real operational conditions.
My Approach – Bio-Logical Safety
My approach combines a strong background in microbiology, hands-on laboratory practice, and a structured approach to safety and its implementation.
Built on expertise. Implemented in practice.
Values
For me, safety is not a formality but a fundamental requirement for reliable, high-quality, and productive work. My goal is to support organizations in effectively integrating safety into daily operations and implementing regulatory requirements in a reliable manner, ensuring safe and compliant working conditions.
